Saturday Salons

Artistic and Executive Director Eda Holmes invites a special guest from the theatre community for a conversation after a Saturday matinée performance. Our guest for the Little Dickens run on November 30 is puppeteer, actor, teacher and director Zach Fraser, who will discuss the process of creating puppet theatre with the graduating class of the National Theatre School. This event in Centaur’s main floor gallery is free and open to the public.

A variety of local and touring artists bring their stories, puppets, dances and songs to Centaur several times a year to the delight of young Montrealers. From Métis jigs to forgetful princesses, there’s something for everyone in our Children’s Series. In general, our shows are recommended for children 5 and up, but don’t hesitate to reach out for more information.

Join Lucinda Chodan, editor-in-chief of the Montreal Gazette, and a special guest in Centaur’s main floor gallery to talk about the arts in Montreal and beyond. This month, on November 24, McGill Classics Professor Lynn Kozak will discuss the joys and challenges of adapting classic works of literature for today’s audiences. This event is free and open to the public.

Seize the Moment!

Who can say that they became exactly who they dreamt of becoming when they were young? Martin Bédard, chansonnier and storyteller extraordinaire, takes over Centaur’s main floor gallery to share his own journey from the banlieues of Montreal to Broadway and back again in this bilingual cabaret. Bédard is accompanied on piano by Doug Price. Tickets are $10 each and are booked through Box Office – hurry, our next performance on December 1st is almost sold out!
