TD Saturday Morning Children’s Series

The TD Saturday Morning Children’s Series presents local and touring artists. On select Saturday mornings throughout the season, young children and their families can enjoy affordable and engaging live performances by some of Montreal’s best talent for kids.

On the Buffalo Hunt Métis Style – Bruce Sinclair – 10:30am

Métis actor and storyteller Bruce Sinclair brings the audience on a buffalo hunt Métis style. Participants will impersonate a buffalo herd, Métis hunters, women and girls preparing the buffalo meat for the return back home, and finally, a celebration that will involve a Métis jig competition and an impromptu square dance. Interactive theatre at its best!

Tales From the Wind – ​Carolina Chmielewski Tanaka – 10:30am

In this one-person show, a drifter from a distant land tells the stories she has heard in her travels. The wind has carried these stories from different parts of the world, such as Ethiopia, India and Cameroon. These are stories about families, hope, disputes, and overcoming; and stories that bring with them the wisdom carried from one generation to another. Carolina is the drifter/storyteller and portrays all the characters from the stories.

A grumpy spirit wants all holidays to disappear forever, and has stolen important objects that represent them. If the objects are not returned to their rightful owner by the end of the day, there will no longer be a Christmas, a Halloween, a Valentine’s day, or any special occasions! The only one who can save the day is our favorite amnesic princess… but will she be able to accomplish this mission without her memory? This is what friends are for, so be sure to join her!
