Centaur Theatre in Partnership with Talisman Theatre Presents
SEEKER
Winner of the Michel Tremblay Award for Best New Play
By Marie-Claude Verdier
Translated by Alexis Diamond
Directed by Rebecca Gibian
With Bénédicte Bélizaire and Andrew Shaver
Hailed as a “coup-de-force” when it first premiered in 2021, Seeker unfolds in the year 2250, on a remote military base in Colorado.
Lomond is a Seeker—recruited for his rare ability to enter and decode the memories of others. When he is called into a classified operation, he is forced to confront his estranged ex-wife—the one person who knows him best—now leading the mission.
As past and present begin to blur, Lomond is drawn into a high-stakes investigation where memory itself becomes the only path to the truth. What starts as an assignment quickly becomes something far more personal—and far more dangerous.
Together, they must navigate a volatile emotional terrain while confronting a truth buried deep within memory—one that could reshape everything they thought they knew.
In a world where memory can be accessed, nothing is ever truly hidden.
Originally premiering to sold-out audiences at Montréal’s Théâtre d’Aujourd’hui in 2021, Seeker was widely praised for its striking fusion of speculative science fiction and deeply human storytelling.
Marie-Claude Verdier’s work explores identity, memory, and the responsibility we bear in shaping our collective future—brought to life through an intimate and immersive production that places audiences at the heart of the experience.
Critically Acclaimed
Now, for the first time in English, Centaur Theatre presents the world premiere of Alexis Diamond’s translation, bringing this powerful Quebec work to new audiences.
Directed by Centaur’s Associate Artist Rebecca Gibian, this intimate two-person production features Bénédicte Bélizaire in her Centaur debut, alongside Andrew Shaver, known to audiences for his performances in The 39 Steps, Trad, and more.
A gripping blend of sci-fi and human drama, brought to life in an intimate, immersive production.
On stage April 15 to May 3, 2026, Seeker is an urgent, provocative theatrical experience—an intimate sci-fi drama where memory, truth, and the future of humanity collide.
