Season 2025-26

Dear Friend of Centaur,

I am thrilled to announce the exciting line-up for the 2025/26 subscription series at Centaur Theatre, which we are calling The View from Here. The season is dedicated to celebrating our national cultural identity with a playbill and roster of artists that is 100% Canadian. Our subscribers are an important part of that celebration, and we would be thrilled to have you join the party.

Three of the four shows in the subscription series will be on our newly renovated stage in C2,including an Indigenous theatrical odyssey through the buried history of Montreal, the English premiere of a beautiful Quebec play about the power of the creative spirit, and Shakespeare as you have never seen it before. The final show of the season, a thrilling sci-fi drama, will take you to outerspace in the intimate setting of C1. We’re hoping to sell out all four shows, so you’ll want to have your tickets in advance!

After two years of renovation, we are back on stage in C2!  The newfly-tower and state-of-the-art rigging system are game-changers at Centaur, both for the artists who create theatre magic and for the audiences who enjoy it. As a subscriber, you not only get the best seats in the house at a great price, with great perks, but this year we are also offering you a free tour of the stage so that you can see first-hand how we make the magic happen.  You might even get lucky and meet the Centaur ghost! Also, don’t forget that we can now welcome all patrons thanks to our new accessibility elevator, which lets you skip the front stairs. We added it in memory of theatre-lover Tiziano Giacomini thanks to the exceptional generosity of his widow and Centaur patron Marisa Testa.

It will come as no surprise that we have had to raise our base ticket price this year to keep up with the volatility of the economy and put as much money as possible on stage and in the pockets of the talented artists we work with. Still, we are committed to keeping Centaur as accessible as possible for our loyal patrons and being a subscriber is the best way to beat inflation! It is also the best way to help Centaur remain a vital English-language cultural institution for years to come.
