An OUTSTANDING evening

The Montreal English Theatre Awards, more commonly called the METAs, are peer-juried awards which are given out annually. Since their start in 2012, the METAs are now in their seventh year of recognizing the best of the city’s English-language theatre. This year, the METAs award ceremony took place on November 3rd at the historic Théâtre Monument-National. We are very pleased to announce that Centaur Theatre was awarded the following METAs:

Outstanding Lighting Design (sponsored by Solotech, Inc.): Andrea Lundy for The Last Wife

Outstanding Contribution to Theatre: Floydd Ricketts for Choir Boy (Music Direction)

Outstanding Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) Production (presented in partnership with the Conseil des arts de Montréal): Choir Boy

This year’s ceremony, hosted by Patrick Émmanuel Abellard and Kate Hammer, was full of laughs and heartfelt moments. The METAs are always a great opportunity to take the pulse of Montreal’s English theatre community, and this year’s ceremony was no exception.

Centaur Theatre extends hearty congratulations to all of this year’s META nominees and winners. For the full list of award categories and winners, click HERE.
