Feb. 20 TO MAR. 24, 2018
12-5PM: Sun. & Mon.
12PM to Showtime: Tues. - Sat.
Every year, the Festival de Casteliers, an international event dedicated to puppetry arts, includes the walkabout exhibition, Marionnettes en vitrines!, which features the work of an outstanding puppet maker. These puppets are on display in merchants’ windows throughout the Outremont borough. For its 13th edition, the exhibition presents the puppets of renowned scenographer, Richard Lacroix.
Richard Lacroix’s puppets were built for the various shows and projects with which he has collaborated, and are the result of a poetic quest. Thanks to their creator’s boundless imagination, these puppets inhabit an augmented reality when they come to life. The artist is widely recognized for his outstanding talent creating tones and moods, whether it is for theatre, contemporary dance, film, or television.
We are very proud to collaborate with Centaur Theatre for the first time to present the exhibition. This marvellous selection of Richard Lacroix’s puppets, features puppets from the Théâtre du Nouveau Monde production, La Savatière prodigieuse, and magnificent birds that were created for Théâtre de l’Oeil’s production of RAVEN. Don’t miss them doing cartwheels in the theatre lobby from February 20 to March 24!
The Festival de Casteliers exhibition is produced in partnership
with the Cinémathèque québécoise and Théâtre de l’Oeil.
