CALIN ROVINESCU, CEO of Air Canada, to chair Centaur’s Annual Fundraising Gala

Centaur Theatre Company is pleased to announce that Calin Rovinescu has graciously accepted to chair Centaur’s sixth annual fundraising gala, which will take place on Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Mr. Rovinescu is the President & CEO of Air Canada. A lawyer by training, Mr. Rovinescu first joined Air Canada in 2000 having previously been the Managing Partner of Stikeman, Elliott.

Centaur’s annual fundraising gala is an exclusive and highly anticipated social event. The evening will begin with a cocktail dînatoire at 6:00 PM, followed by a performance of the play jake's gift at 7:30 PM. After wrapping the night up with desserts and luxury auctions, no guest will go home unsatisfied! All proceeds from the gala will support Centaur’s 42nd production season.

jake's gift, written and performed by former Montrealer Julia Mackay, is a heartwarming story about the unique friendship between an inquisitive 10-year-old French girl and a Second World War veteran who visits Juno Beach on the 60th anniversary of D-Day. This multiple award-winning, 60-minute play pays homage to the veterans who fought for their country in World War II.
